The panel was led by Mara Marcu and Stephen Slaughter, both faculty at UC DAAP and organizers of the exhibition and panel for "EcoDiversity: Computation and Identity." The discussion focused on how each person/team addressed the role of the designer and their decision making process within computationally driven design. Our installation was crafted to address their call and attempts to describe the fluid relationship between academic research and teaching with professional practice where the work presented is in direct relationship to a design process that foregrounds the designers decision making within a digital workflow.
